NorthWood Golf Course is a Public 18 holes golf course located in Rhinelander, Wisconsin.
NorthWood Golf Course first opened for play in 1989. The course was designed by Don Herfort.
Par for the course is 72. From the back tees the course plays to 6724 yards. From the forward tees the course measures 5338 yards. The longest hole on the course is # 2, a par-5 that plays to 549 Yards. The shortest hole on the course is # 11, a par-3 that plays to 142 yards from the back tees.
Watch out for # 2, a 549 yard par-5 challenge and the #1 handicap hole on the course. The easiest hole is # 11, a 142 yard par-3.

This is a scenic course cut into the woods on hilly terrain; few holes parallel each other or are visible one to another. Each hole is unique; not one of those courses that are a series of forgettable holes--- dog legs with serious trees blocking the turn, elevated greens and tees, large undulating greens, and wildlife (deer, birds, etc.). The course will consume golf balls at higher than average rate-- fairway, rough, deep woods with virtually no chance to find a ball. The greens are ample with lots going on--- very good condition. I would definitely recommend playing this course. It is not too far off Highway 51/39 (main north/south route between Madison and Minocqua) and close to the Rhinelander airport.
